Endomyocardial fibrosis (EMF) was first described as far back as 1946 among Ugandans. It is mostly a disease of the tropics and subtropics and most common among individuals of low socioâ??economic class affecting an estimated 10 million people.[1] In Nigeria it has been reported among individuals in the southern part, in the rain forest zone.
