Introduction: Galectin 3 (Gal-3) is a lectin protein, involved in severalbiological processes such as cell growth, differentiation, signaling, divisionand apoptosis. Furthermore, Gal-3 is a novel prognostic biomarker forchronic heart failure. N-Terminal (NT)-pro hormone BNP (NT-proBNP) isanother heart failure biomarker since it is secreted from the atria and theventricles of patients with heart failure and increased significantly insymptomatic and asymptomatic patients suffering from left ventriculardysfunction. The Patients with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) have anincreased risk of all-cause mortality.
